UNSHAKABLE JUST MISSES OUT ON DOUBLE

Bob Jones’ now nine-year-old stable star Unshakable narrowly failed to repeat last year’s success in the Jeep Mile when a fast-finishing neck behind Little White Lie.

“He ran a great race for a nine-year-old and hopefully there might be a bit more to come for him,” said Jones’ daughter Nicola. “We just hope he goes on from this and he’ll probably go to Sandown on Eclipse day for a valuable mile handicap, he’s run well at the course a couple of times.”

David Simcock was pleased with the run of third-placed Vainglory. “The distance just stretched him, ideally he wants a mile with a bit of cut and possibly came from a bit far back,” said Simcock. “He will keep going in these big handicaps and he will win one because he’s so honest and game.”
