Coming to The Derby with a group of friends is a fantastic day out and a key part of The Derby experience is the sight of the open-topped buses lined down the course. There are a number of Enclosures that hold all types of buses, from Mini Buses to Open Topped Coaches. All Enclosures have:

  • Betting facilities
  • Toilets
  • Food and drink outlets nearby
  • A great view of the track
  • A party atmosphere!

The Lonsdale Enclosure

This is out most sought after location opposite the Queen's Stand, near the Winning Post. On Derby Day only open-topped double-decker buses are admitted, but on Ladies Day, it can accommodate either single or double-deckers.

These prices include the bus, and everyone on it, when it drives into the Enclosure.

The Walton

Situated next to the Lonsdale Enclosure, the Walton offers the chance to be close to the racing action, but without the expense of bringing an open topped double-decker! Both single and double-decker vehicles can park in the Walton.

The prices include the vehicle and everyone in it, when it enters the enclosure.

Upper Tattenham

This area stretches from the Tattenham Straight Pedestrian Area down to the famous Tattenham Corner. Both single and double decker coaches can park in this facility on both days of The Festival, and it has a great atmosphere.

These prices include the coach or bus and everyone on the vehicle, when it drives into the Enclosure.

The Hill

The Hill is the famous area at the centre of the course. It's usually the heart of the party as many people flock to experience the market and funfair. It features all the facilities you need to really make the day fly by, including;

  • Betting facilities
  • Food and bar facilities
  • Funfair
  • Toilets

It's free for pedestrians to walk onto The Hill.
